Here’s another good stat. Almost down 40% in the 7-day average from the peak, which was less than 20 days ago.

Ohio's numbers are dropping, but it's interesting to me how quickly I anchor to new realities, because they are numbers that would have distressed me deeply last October (let alone last April) and yet I feel some relief looking at them every day.

We'll likely plateau over the next week, then a week after the Super Bowl go up a bit, go down until St. Patrick's day, plateau again, go down until Easter, then plateau.

All the plateus will be lower as more people are vaccinated, but it'll take time to go down to last summer levels.

Reminds of the effect where when drinking, you “feel” the effects of alcohol way more on your way up the BAC chart than on the decreasing side, at the same BAC.

It’s crude in this case but it’s a “been there, done that” effect.

If things follow the trend, we’ll have a good day tomorrow, with increasing numbers as the week goes on due to reporting lags. So be sure everyone to follow the 7-day trend.

Today we were down 20-25 percent from a week ago as far as the Sunday number goes.

Almost 10% of the country is vaccinated now, add that to the number of people who have some immunity because they had the virus and I have to think that total is having a real effect at this point.

After a year of this thing, it's pretty apparent seasonality is a HUGE cause of many of these spikes. Indiana has dropped like a rock like pretty much most of the states around us. Texas, Cali, Florida are all high right now. Etc, countless other examples. This is a great time for vaccine rollout. The only thing that can slow this vaccine right now is a huge snowstorm or. . uhh. .. . . crap.

I think the weather across the country may account for some days being way up and/or down over the next week or so.
