Some non-blue checkmarks on Twitter are saying Jags are talking to Ravens about Orlando Brown as LT.

As a Browns fan who has been through more than one “uniform change” off-season discussion I (seriously) hope Urban and Trevor give you better things to worry about/celebrate from now on.

You guys finally got it right uniform wise. All the previous versions just looked off bit.

Been pretty quiet on Jags personnel front. Talk that they are going to release Tyler Eifert but hasn't happened yet. In an interview, Urban Meyer said he recruiting free agents was like recruiting colleg kids. Along those lines they have started preliminary discussions about a new practice facility.

Missed this... apparently a lot of talk that Jags want to cut the salary associated with LG Andrew Norwell. He is pretty expensive. 15 million cap hit this year, and 16 million next year. I think they like Norwell, but think they can find a capable replacement at less dollars.

He's most expensive player on roster.

Anyway, it seems he is not agreeing to the cut, so Jags will trade or release him. And given the current market, release seems more lkely.

Norwell didn't earn the contract. Too much missed time and not a Top-5 Guard during the time he played. Automatic cut. Move on.

Urban had press conference today. Lots of news. I'll review it.

But he announced the Jags would franchise LT Cam Robinson and sure enough they did.

    NBC Sports' comments:

Robinson was expected to be available in free agency this spring. He'll stay in Jacksonville, where he'll likely block for Trevor Lawrence in 2021. In 2020, Robinson was one of the NFL's worst pass blocking tackles, ranking 42nd out of 59 qualifying tackles, per Pro Football Focus. Jacksonville had PFF's 19th ranked pass blocking offensive line in 2020, but it would have been a whole lot better without Robinson. Not a good start to player personnel decisions by the Meyer Trust.

Urban had a 22 minute news conference.

Pretty good stuff. Radio guys were impressed about how open he was. Really praised interior OL and in particular Norwell and wants Norwell to be here for years. Now maybe behind the scenes they are saying 'at a reduced price'. Said both tackles are young and they expect improvement. And that this wasn't going to be a good year to get a LT in free agency. They do want to sign Cam to a longer term deal.

Mentioned Tight ends and defensive backfield and defensive line as areas of need. Say they love CJ Henderson.

Re: 2021 Jacksonville Jaguars - Time for some "Urban" renewal

From NBC Sports w/ NBC Sports' comments:

Sports Illustrated's John Shipley notes the Jaguars have not been awarded a compensatory pick for the 11th consecutive season. Just wild. Compensatory picks are awarded to teams from a private formula based on free agency gains and losses (and now coaching hires). It's a decent barometer of which teams have been savvy and which teams haven't as the process isn't the easiest to crack. Jacksonville not picking a single one up in over a decade is embarrassing, but there are reasons for hope with Urban Meyer, Trevor Lawrence, and a bunch of capital coming to town.

GM Baalke held a 15 minute press conference yesterday. Certainly not as forthcoming as Urban.

Jags and local media really promoted the video series The Hunt. Said they had unparalleled access. I thought Episode 1 was a nice hype video but that was about it.

Norwell is indeed staying. He did take a bit of a pay cut. He had 2 years at 15 million each left on his deal. Now he has a one year deal for 12 million. 9 million guaranteed.

I feel a little better now than I did last night. Griffin fills our CB need. Robertson-Harris fills an edge on a 3-4. Alualu helps fill the middle along with Davon Hamilton. I'm assuming Jenkins is a regular at Safety. (don't know which kind of safety he is)

We kept some guys. (We haven't lost much)

Next to nothing on offense. Hyde and Dorsett do nothing for me.
