Obviously Casino Royale is great, maybe the best Bond ever made. But I go out on a limb and really like Quantum too. Skyfall was very good and beautifully shot by Roger Deakins, and Spectre was whatever. Either way, I'm looking forward to Craig's final show. He's been a fantastic Bond.

Watched Dune on HBO Max tonight. It was pretty good, definitely has me hooked for the next one. I like Villeneuve's visual style. Movie was beautiful in Dolby Vision.

I love the Uncharted games. Definitely in my top 2 game series of all time. But video games to movies almost never works (except for Super Mario Bros). I will watch Uncharted, but I'll be shocked if it's good. And Tom Holland is way too scrawny to pull off Nathan.

There's plenty of great source material out there, but very few adaptations. It has little to do with difference of mediums, IMO. And really, it's only recently through Twitch & YouTube "Let's Play" series that gaming has really started to surge in popularity. The Last of Us and Halo TV series are set to air next year. There's a bunch of other big projects announced as well, like a Fallout TV series, a Borderlands and Gears of War movie, etc. Whether or not these all get made is anyone's guess. I remember Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp were supposed to make a Halo film together all the way back in 2008.

The Last of Us can be an amazing video game to tv(?)/movie(yes) adaptation. So could a Diablo movie. The others are maybe. But there is so much Uncharted content they could make 3 or 4 movies easily here. It's Indiana Jones meets Mission Impossible. My expectations are just low because these are usually lazy and bad.

Warcraft could have also been great but they were determined to make it as bad as possible.

Playing through Uncharted 1-4 I never thought of Nathan as Tom Holland type. Nate was like Rob Gronkowski, but knew his history. He was a meathead who was goofy to a fault. And Sully needs to be old, I get they're trying to start young here, but Wahlberg isn't a Sully. Maybe it'll surprise me.

I liked No Time To Die, Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond. It had a terrific, and long, pre-credits scene, ranking with the pre-credits scenes in The Spy Who Loved Me, Goldeneye and Casino Royale. The cast was good, with Ana de Armas a particular highlight. Overall, I liked the film. It was not as good as Casino Royale, which is in my personal top five 007 movies, but it may be top ten.

Can’t wait for The Last of Us. I thought The Witcher was great on Netflix and really enjoyed the Castlevania series. I said this on the political forum recently, but I think you’re going to start seeing a lot of more video game adaptations. I expect Nintendo to really start pushing it. Can’t wait for a Legend of Zelda and Metroid series.

Last of Us is going to be a show on HBO.

I actually enjoy the Warcraft movie. It’s really dumb, but it’s also a fun watch after a few beers. My wife took the kids to visit her parents last year and I got hammered and watched it. Was fun!

There have been rumors of a Diablo anime series and Overwatch cartoon coming to Netflix for a few years now.

I had a lot of hope for the Warcraft movie, namely because of Duncan Jones and the special effects team they assembled. While it's certainly not a very good movie, it's mildly entertaining. Their game cinematic trailers are amazing, especially the ones for Diablo 4 and Warlords of Draenor. Still, I think even those 5-10 minute trailers take a long time to put together.

The Max Payne series is one of my favorites, because it plays like a modern film-noir with its atmosphere and story. If there ever was a slam dunk game to adapt into a movie, Max Payne was it. Having watched the movie, though, I find it hard to believe anyone who worked on that turd had actually played the games lol.

There’s a DOTA animated series on Netflix. A Diablo series would be fantastic. Starcraft as well.

Agreed on Starcraft it could be amazing. Almost wish those Blizzard cinematic folks would just make movies instead of shorts. Boatloads of talent.

There's a Jaina movie waiting to happen here...

Me and the wife watched Halloween Kills on Peacock last night. My advice is to skip it. It's nothing but a set up for what is supposed to be the final Halloween next October titled Halloween Ends. We will see if it really does.

They better make a next one. This one was really good but obviously not a stand alone.

Edit: they just announced the sequel is going to get made, scheduled for release October 2023
