    It’s more about how the Central division teams fare against teams from Western and Eastern division teams. Just because Central division teams beat up on one another, doesn’t mean that it’s a weak division. Take away the Dodgers in the West and possibly the Braves and Nats in the East, and the Central division stacks pretty well.

    The Dodgers, Padres, and Mets are clearly better than any team in the Central.

    The Nats and Braves are likely as good if not a bit better.

    The rest of both other divisions is dreck. That in itself would allow would-be Central division competitors to run up the score, so to speak.
