Filed to @CBSSports: The USC job is Luke Fickell's to turn down. If he does, Bob Stoops might be waiting in the wings.
I'm not even a UC fan, and I'm already po'd for them if Fickell lets that distract from what should be a dream season for UC football. They cannot afford a distraction this week.
Tough job to turn down, but doesn’t seem like a great fit for Fickell.

I am not sure I buy this.....Dodd talks out his ass a lot. I get the connection to the AD.....but I doubt it is his to turn down today.

Not so sure it's a great job anymore. Tough to beat the weather and the recruiting base but they may be Nebraska West.
The PAC 12 needs USC to return to some semblance of their former glory for CFP purposes.

Needing and happening are two different things. Before the pandemic started, I'd drive to work every morning listening to sports radio for 20 minutes or so. I'd have my choice between ESPN radio with Mike & Mike up until a few years ago and for the last few years, Clay Travis on Fox Sports Radio. About once a week Travis would have Petros Papadakis on for a segment or two. Papadakis is a SC alum and former player for the football team back in the late 90s early 00s. He currently does games for Fox and used to have an afternoon radio show. Anyway, for the last few years he'd talk about how dysfunctional the athletic department is there.

That was dumb tweet. This may be his best team at UK this season. He went 10-3 in 2018 and 8-5 in 2019. For UK that is not really plateauing I'm not counting 2020 as that was just a messed up year. He also is in line to be UK's all time winningest coach by next season as he just needs 9 wins to pass the Bear. We'll see. He could very well leave but I would kind of surprised.

I’ve literally not seen Mark Stoops mentioned anywhere else except that tweet. Bob has been but I don’t see that happening either.
I’ve seen him floated for Nebraska but that seems like a pipe dream for them.
