If they can’t agree on the DH and expanded playoffs for 2021 there is no way they will agree on a new contract at the end of the season without some kind of work stoppage.
    Tim McCarver: Baseball Quotes
I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.

So will it be a strike or a lock out?

A lockout following a lost season...just what the sport needs.

Jackie Bradley Jr. is going to the Brewers. He’s planning to tell the Crew he is accepting their offer today.
    @byJulianMack 1st with the news. #JBJ

Don't hit balls in the air against the Brewers. They will catch everything.

Getting less and less likely I'll log in one morning to the news that the Reds acquired Trevor Story

    Charlie Goldsmith @CharlieG__
This would be a wild trivia question: Which four current Reds have thrown the most innings for the team since 2015?
    -Castillo
    -Lorenzen
    -Mahle
    -Romano

Here’s the overall top 25 (including former Reds).

Astros sign Odorizzi to 2 year deal. The last major free agent out there

I did not expect Bradley to get that kind of money to be honest. Essentially free agency still functions well, those fringe guys just don’t get paid for being veterans anymore.

Bruh, you posted this at 1pm, what did you get into last night?

But, in all seriousness, I think the Rockies are holding on to Story until the deadline. There have been rumors they are refusing to even take calls on him. If you want to feel better about the Reds FO read up on the Rockies FO. It’s completely incompetent. The Reds are mostly incompetent, but they can do a few things ok.
What would you say.....ya do here?

    That made me laugh.

Making these alternate sites permanent will be part of the next labor deal.

Why does baseball hate the minors so much?

Just hypothesizing here, but originally, the minors were a great way for MLB to create fans all over the country, in areas where there were no MLB teams. The Cardinals were masters at this.

But now MLB is pretty much everywhere through expansion, and even more so in terms of watching in TV or online. So having a team in Billings or Ogden or Kingsport holds little value these days.
