My prediction is looking stronger. Didi and Simmons only SS options left in FA. My guess is Simmons goes to the Phillies and Didi to the Reds.

Curt Schilling in letter to the Hall of Fame: "I will not participate in the final year of voting. I am requesting to be removed from the ballot. I’ll defer to the veterans committee and men whose opinions actually matter and who are in a position to actually judge a player.''

I absolutely loathe Curt Schilling as a person. He’s 100% correct on this, though. He’s a clear cut hall of fame baseball player. This is absurd.

I think he's borderline - I won't lose any sleep over none of the top 3 vote getters getting in.

Interesting developments. I'm really surprised Semien settled for one year, especially with the really strong group of shortstops hitting FA next year. Galvis to the O's is not good for us, in my reading. I was hoping Phils woulds sign Galvis, leaving both Didi and Simmons to negotiate with us. Phils very likely to take one of them. Krall needs to move now that these shoes have dropped.

I wouldn’t vote for a guy supporting the insurrection stuff as of this second right now. I mean if I were a journalist, I also wouldn’t vote for a guy who encouraged people to lynch me either.

He's right that it should be up to the Veterans Committee. Same with the fate of the roids guys. Roughly half of the committee are hall of famers so IF they're ok with having these players in the HOF, fine.

Schilling clearly has some issues too, which he's danced around in the past.

Outside of conviction for serious/vile crimes post-career, I don't find it necessary evaluate a player's character away from the game. During his career, he won the Roberto Clemente award, which is pretty damn prestigious.

I like that I disagree with Curt Schilling about his HOF worthiness. I like it even more that I now get to stop making the case for Schilling getting into Cooperstown.
    I'm not a system player. I am a system.

I like that he thinks he’s did himself a favor with his nod to “the men” in the veteran’s committee but really just looks like a buffoon to all committees now.

    Simmons to the Twins.

Shortstop Andrelton Simmons and the Minnesota Twins are in agreement on a one-year, $10.5 million contract, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN.

Pretty good deal for Simmons, I figured he’d come in below $10 million.
