It is amazing that this is overlooked but the internet fan group. Last years Reds team was butt awful, (save for a two week stretch), and entered the playoffs, supposedly, as one of the hottest teams and still could not score a run.

The Reds pitching is what kept the Reds floating in mediocrity and now they have lost Bauer and Iglesias and still this crowd wants to crown them. I just don't get it.

Well, this is a Reds fan site. Not really sure what is surprising here...

I don't think in was unrealistic from the standpoint of the simulation. The premise was that if he pitched every 4 days (like he wants) then he would get 44 starts. Sounds to me to be completely possible with a willing organization. Now if you want to argue the results, go right ahead, but again it was a simulation based on a specific variable.
    Let's play two!!!

I don't think he'd ever get 44 starts in this day and age. It would mess with the routine of the other guys too much to accomodate him. Perhaps a rotation full of retreads and kids would defer to Bauer's presence, but Gray and Castillo are going to stay on schedule. At this poinmt,Mahle probably should as well.

I also think it's unrealistic to believe he could keep up what he did over 11 starts over a full season of 44 or even 32 starts. In 21 Reds starts he had a 3.76 ERA. Part of the reason he was awful as a Red in 2019 is the inning load he accumlated in Cleveland prior to coming here. He had a great run of 11 starts and it made him the clear best pitcher in the league last year. This year, he projects an ERA of 3.62. Similar to his 21 starts Reds totals.

Math doesn't always equal analysis IMO.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

It's a simulation and the results showed what Bauer going on three days’ rest regularly would look like. He’d get 44 starts, and the Nos. 2, 3,and 4 pitchers really wouldn’t have much of a negative effect at all. His starts would come from the No. 5 slot in the rotation.
