I stated early in the thread, that I thought Jerry Jones would sign Dak. I also said I thought this was the perfect year to escape. But that he wouldn't.
So the deal is massive and gives Dak everything he wanted. Jones caved in every regard.
4 years not 5. From everything I read the deal is technically 6 but 2 years automatically void so in reality it's 4. (not sure exactly how that works)
It's 160 million, with 126 guaranteed. He'll receive a 66 million dollar signing bonus and a salary of 9 million in 2021 so he collects 75 million in Year 1. 2022 is 22 million already guaranteed. So 95 million guaranteed already. And the 2023 gets guaranteed at 31 million on the 5th day of 2022 league year. So to escape that Cowboys would have to walk away after 1 year at 95 million. (ain't happening).
He has a no trade clause in the contract, and they've written into it ways Dak can never be franchised tagged again.
One blue check pundit said the amount of money handed out indicated to him that Jerry Jones know that future TV money is going way up.
