It was good to read Doolittle say the Reds are known for their cutting-edge pitching practices. Made me feel good.

I'm 67 yrs old, been a die hard Reds fan longer than I can remember, never heard anyone from another organization praise the Reds pitching practices.

Sean Doolittle says he's been toying with a pitch that profiles as a curveball/slider. "This is my first time doing any sort of pitching design." He's happy with his fastball velocity this offseason, too.

I like that he said he’s open to other to other rolls.
“Doolittle told the #reds he was super open minded about other roles besides closer. Said he needs to earn it after rough year in '20.”

Does this mean he’s in the mix for short stop also?

“I think we’re going to be really good,” Doolittle said. “I think the NL Central’s kind of wide open this year. I think everybody saw the strides that the Reds made last year, getting to the playoffs. They ran into a tough Braves team that I had to deal with quite a bit, so I know they were really good. But I love the energy that the team plays with. I love the mix of veteran guys and young guys that they have on the field and in the clubhouse. There are definitely some personalities on the team that I think is awesome. I think you need that for clubhouse chemistry. I think you need that to keep the energy up over the course of a long season. There’s a lot here that I’m excited about.”
