You're also right I think, but I have KC a like because it gave me a chuckle.

Looking on the positive side, it’s a worthwhile gamble on a once-very good reliever. Assuming, as is likely, that the cost is low.
His 2019 what's the same as Iglesias.

I honestly think it would be one of Derek Johnson's greatest feats if he can get a quality year from this guy. Unless Johnson specifically thinks he can help him, I personally would have passed on the signing.

Yes, and going into 2020 Iglesias was a question mark as well.

I thought the pitching coaches did a good job with Iggy, helping him reduce his HR allowed rate in 2020. If they can do the same for Doolittle, whose 2019-20 HR rates were very high, that would be a productive accomplishment.

This could work out, but Reds are almost finished adding, one roster spot remains, and I had hoped they would shoot a big higher. But Doolittle could work out, probably a worthwhile gamble under the circumstances.

This will all be about velocity. If he can get back to at least around 93-94 I think it'll be a worthwhile investment. If he continues to function around 89-90 it might be more of what we've seen from him recently. Hopefully DJ can help him make the necessary adjustments.

Morosi reporting it’s a done deal. 1 year. No money details yet.

Yes another blah move, Nothing done to help our grip and rip, no result offense. Also lost two starting pitchers with more to come.

I wonder if they see him in the traditional closer role?

With Doolittle Reds are at 39 on the roster. They could easily find somebody to drop, so nothing is for certain, but 39 at this date may imply one more move. Perhaps a trade of non-roster prospect(s) for a shortstop.

With all of this off-season talk, the main issue is still batting approach, getting the team BA up to respectable levels, and thereby producing many more runs. That problem was the real shocker of 2020, and it’s the obvious “growth area” going into ST.

Let’s just hope they finish off the roster respectably and get ST moving.

I kinda hope not. I think Amir and Sims have earned that right to start the season.

Disco added a whole negative .6 War last year. The Reds lost Bauer.
