I like this move, especially for that price.
Let's hope he comes to Cincinnati and erases the memory of another reliever named Sean.

All I want to know is, can he talk to animals? If not, I'm out.
Whether he can play shortstop or not.
Next Reds manager, second shooter. --Confirmed on Redszone.

This is a great move. If Doolittle balls out it’s good on two fronts. If the reds are competing for the division in July great, if they are not he can be traded for an asset at the deadline. If he stinks it’s only $1.5 million.
What would you say.....ya do here?

$1.5M is pretty cheap....almost too cheap.

Sean Doolittle's one-year contract with the #Reds has a salary of $1.5 million, plus performance bonuses, source says.

Sean Doolittle is going to spend the offseason in Seattle and work on his mechanics at Driveline.

Yeah, even if you concede that both Amir and Sims are better pitchers than Doolittle at this point (they probably are), those set-up guys/fireman sometimes have a tougher job than the clean 9th inning guy. Doolittle is no mulit-inning pitcher either.
Lorenzen is the other guy in the bunch that I think could handle closer duties. I would way rather him there than in the (opening day) rotation.
