It is kinda funny how underwhelmed I was that they had settled for Villar instead of getting an actual legit starting SS like Didi or Semien or whatever

And now they probably aren’t even going to sign the underwhelming option lol

Look, I know Votto has gained some weight lately, but he does not weigh anywhere close to 18 million lbs.

You could add a quality short and first bagman to the squad for less than votto's salary

Apparently cut the payroll even further if the Iglesias and Bradley moves are any indication.

I shouldn't even engage with this but man the "Votto's contract is why they aren't better" meme on here in 2021, it's like absurdist humor.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I don't get it. Dee is worse than Galvis. Why would they just not bring Galvis back? I'm still hoping they're going to sign Villar. I just don't see how Dee is a SS at this point.

Eh wot? If it werent for votto's deal we would have kept them.

That plus COVID will spell the end of any thoughts of contention this year

I liked him better when he was almost as fast as Billy Hamilton. And before the suspension.

It’s alright guys, I’m sure they’ll be reinvesting the 37 million dollars they cut from the payroll this offseason any day now

Re: Reds sign Dee Strange-Gordon to minor league deal

Our shortstop isnt a shortstop and he also cant hit

Our first bagman has been nothing but a walk machine since he signed the biggest deal in majour league history and hasnt even been that for the last two

Our second bagman is a third bagman

Our third bagman is a shortstop, but a bad one

Two of our outer fieldmen should be DH

And we are losing the best tosser in franchise history

This season is going to be FUN!

    Thank you very kindly #Joey

    I can confirm
    @kileymcd
report that Dee Strange-Gordon has agreed to a minor-league deal with the #Reds with an invite to big-league camp. Strange-Gordon has worked out with Barry Larkin over the years. He will compete for a utility role with the Reds

Yeah ... not a fan of this, but it’s a minor league deal. I won’t sweat it too much until he’s on the 25 man roster.

Re: Reds sign Dee Strange-Gordon to minor league deal

I'm trying to imagine what it would take to get me out of sorts over the Reds signing Dee to a minor league deal and I'm drawing a blank. It's a giant so what for me.

Maybe they're just doing it to make people excited to sign Villar.
    I'm not a system player. I am a system.

They ended up with half a Didi.

Maybe these minor league deals mean Louisville will be awesome this year.
