UM came up big in the paint down the stretch and that’s the difference.
Both teams better off for today’s tough game.
One of the best games I have watched all year.

Good game, Michigan was extremely hot from 3. Frankly surprised it was as close as it was. Both teams are legit. I could also see both these teams losing by the sweet 16. Weird year.
What would you say.....ya do here?
This is a good Michigan team, they are well rounded and have an offensive big man in the paint and lots of other guys to color that
Defensively they can be smothering and quick. The transfers put them over the top, without Brown and Smith they’d be down an experienced point guard and a quality 6th man

last few years Ohio State Men's Basketball has resembled Icarus.....they fly a little too close to the sun and their season explodes.

Yeah not worried about it. The Sparty game was absolutely criminal officiating. They won that game by 5-9 points without it and missing Young was tough.
Iowa is a bad match up. They don’t have anyone to slow down Garza. They got lucky to beat them in Iowa before.
If OSU does go far it’ll be in no small part because they don’t run into a team with a dominate big man, they’ve struggled against that and don’t have any answers for it outside of shooting the lights out.

Thud.
The backend of this schedule was brutal and its really playing out that way. I think there is a way to beat OSU that MSU and Iowa did, slow them down, make the game ugly, make OSU work to score 60+ points. They also struggle with a big post presence, which Michigan and Iowa have. FWIW, the only way MSU can compete is if they turn the game into a football game, and they succeeded at that against OSU.
Big factor in the last 3 games is Ahrens has scored 0, 0 and 3 points and only attempted 4 three pointers total.

He's a pretty easy scout. Do everything in your power to run him off the 3-pt line (of course, easier said than done).
He had back-to-back breakaways against Sparty and backed the first one, and the second was blocked. The book has long been out on him, but that really drove home how uncomfortable he is outside his long-range role. It just kinda blew me away, especially since he's a pretty long 6'6".
Anyways, I'm still pretty high on the team. I don't think they were ever quite as good as No. 4, but I think they can make some noise in the tournament. More than anything, they're fun to watch.
