All Active Teams Cumulative Win % from 1876-2020

I thought this was pretty fascinating. Watch our Redlegs begin at the top, drop down, and then just sort of...hover for many, many years.

What's it look like since the reserve clause was struck down?

I'd wager not too good for our Reds, even with the late 70's boosting their win total they probably have an overall losing record over that span.

Like I thought, even with the late 70's teams added in they were likely below .500 since then.

Win % puts us right where we generally are historically. An upper middle tier franchise. Sandwiched right between Cleveland, Detroit, and Pittsburgh, who are honestly great benchmarks for us.

And at the top you have the Yankees, Giants, Dodgers, Cards, Red Sox, and Cubs.

This is quickly eroding however and is heavily influenced by the 60’s and 70’s and to an extent the 90s. But our current pace will quickly have us in the bottom third.
    50’s: 741-798 (10/16)
    60’s: 860-742 (8/24)
    70’s: 953-657 (1/26)
    80’s: 781-783 (16/26)
    90’s: 809-745 (7/30)
    00’s: 751-869 (23/30)
    10’s: 775-845 (22/30)
