If we weren't past mid-term already, I would advise they drop this class.
    Let's play two!!!

    Clear F.

Even a minimal effort would have made this team a contender in a division where no one other than the Cards (again) are trying to win this year.

Instead they gave away 2 relievers, one for a ham sandwich, and picked up one reliever who a bullpen starved team like the Nats made no effort to re-sign because he was clearly done last year. Oh, and shortstop....

    Simply awful.

Let’s hope it’s one of those classes where the final exam is 95% of the grade and they come through in the clutch.

    F.

They had one clear need, and they managed to do nothing to fix that need.

Krall should be fired if this is the squad he goes into the season with.

The ownership should be ashamed of itself for the manipulatively greedy way in which they've decided to operate. I'd demand that they sell the team, but I know they don't give two craps about my opinion or the opinions of any of the team's fans. They care only about the almighty dollar.

Scientists need to get together and figure out a grade worse than F. Then and only then will we have a suitable place to start.

The deciding factor for me is that Reds fans lived through 381 losses from 2015-18. It’s too soon to ask them to accept a step backward such as this off-season.

    D so far, for me.

I guess I see things slightly different because, in my mind, it's not only about the moves that were made (which, on their own, are an F so far)

Here's what keeps me from an F:

    - The compensation pick for Bauer. There was a very real scenario where he took a straight 1 year deal and kept the Reds from that pick

    - The health of Hunter Greene. He was seen as a generational talent when he was drafted and just turned 21. He's easy triple digits as a starter and can shoot to the top of prospect lists very quickly

The worst part is clearly stating your goals well beforehand (SS and BP) and then failing spectacularly. Not only did they not get anyone noteworthy (although Dolittle could be a bargain) they didn't even appear to be trying.

If I could, I'd give them an I. They could get a grade when they turn in all their work.

    Re: Grade the Reds' offseason

The whole point of an offseason is to get better for the present and/or the future. They've done neither. A myriad of 26-40 man acquisitions through the waiver wire and Cash $ trades (primarily done because they couldn't produce enough of this talent through their own drafting and international farm system) does not get it done.

The team is worse off than it was at the end of September last year. They can blame it on Covid, but that doesn't change the grade the fanbase will give them.

This is where I came out as well. The other reason I couldn't go "F" is there is a universe somewhere in the multiverse where they traded off some of Castillo, Gray or Suarez for an underwhelming return and failed to spend the cost-savings elsewhere. That's the true F.
How do we know he's not Mel Torme?

Just beciuase it isn't a zero, doesn't meanits not an F.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!
