Not sure if anyone outside the area is very familiar with him, or if they are were aware he was still alive. I've lived in the Bay Area for decades now, but when i first moved here I didn't know City Lights from a hole in the wall, but being by myself I found comfort in a good book and a beer at Vesuvio's or Spec's. His heyday may have been long before i was around, but he will surely be missed by all that knew him.
