    Good For Da Wink
    Joel Luckhaupt of the Pawnee Lerpiss family
    @jluckhaupt

    Jesse Winker has played 324 career games (exactly 2 full seasons!), the 94th to play his first 324 with the Reds. Of those 94, he ranks 12th in AVG (.287), 5th in OBP (.384), and 5th in SLG (.495). Only Kal Daniels (.310/.407/.524) & Joey Votto (.309/.389/.533) top him in all 3.

    I loved me some Kal Daniels in 1987 and 1988. Man could he hit.
    Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

    Winker/ Kalvoski comparisons aren't without merit (if you ignore Daniels' speed).

    I was really on Winker as I thought he was a platoon guy. I still think that. His line against LHP this year is .200 .259 .240 .499

    That.. is not good. That is Billy Hamilton but slow. That is less than Hamilton in fact (Reds Hamilton, not whatever is left in a ChiSox uni.)

    But Winker crushed LHP last year. But last year was all kinds of an aberration. LHP's own Winker. And it is ok to appreciate him for all he is while realizing he's got limitations. I'd love it if he overcame them though.

    There are some fire takes in there for sure.
    Lol, I miss Chuckie and his world class takes:
    Judy Winker
    The Reds biggest need is finding a backup 1B
    Kris Negron as future Reds starting SS
    Kremcheck is completely inept
    Jimmy Herget garunteed Reds closer in 3 years
    (Referring to Jack Hannahan signing with a Korean team)
    Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

    White Sox: Adding Jesse Winker to the Outfield Option Hat
    It’s nice to see Winker getting national attention, but it is amusing to think that the Reds would trade Winker to the White Sox for some bullpen help, as the article suggests.

    "His contract is up this season and is worth $3.15 million"

    Guy has no idea what he's talking about.
    “I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

    Charlie Goldsmith
    @CharlieG__

    Jesse Winker, who leads the NL in batting average and OPS, delivered again on Wednesday with a go-ahead RBI single in extra innings.

    "The guy just hits. He’s born to hit. He picks up a bat and he hits."

    If that bullpen help were named Michael Kopech, I'd consider it.
