    Bell extended, per CTR

    Reds manager David Bell has agreed to a two-year contract extension, he said on Wednesday. Bell said he expects his coaching staff to return.

    I don't have much issue with this. Bell isn't my favorite manager, but he really isn't the reason this team collapsed. 2 yrs is a small extension, so I can live with it

    I'm fine with this. Fixing the roster needs to be the focus. Much more important than expecting the Manager to somehow make good choices out of a bunch of badly flawed alternatives.

    I'd be fine if they canned him too as long as the roster gets addressed. At this point, I don't think it matters who the Manager is.

    Exactly my point of view. Like every manager, there are things I pick at about Bell. But in the end, he was given a very flawed roster and somehow kept them in wild card contention until September.
    ...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

    Go to Vegas, bet 10K on their team total UNDER wins for the season, sit back and watch it burn.

    This will be a hit with RZ. Bell did a good job of keeping this team together this season amid a bunch of injuries a terrible bullpen and a black hole at third base. Amazing, really, this team contended for a WC spot with all of that.
