The Reds are flipping Luis Castillo and Wade Miley in the rotation (possible due to the postponed game Sunday).

Was it just Senzel for him? Either way, I don’t think the twins would have said yes to that.

It was not, but I don’t remember the details. It was when Buxton was injured and Senzel was just coming up and looking good, so maybe the Twins would have bitten. However, everyone here thought even Senzel for Buxton was a terrible idea and TRF was crucified for the proposal.

No team serious about contending would march a guy like Wade Miley out in their rotation. Even as the #5.

Earmarking him for 25+ Starts is a handicap that an already deficient club can not overcome.

His contract was laughable when signed, and is not a reason to keep such a low upside player in the rotation.

Reds were 1-3 in his 4 start campaign last year, and over his last 10 starts dating back to 2019, he has a 10+ ERA. 30 ER in 25 IP.

Lodolo should be in consideration, as well as Antone, obviously.


The Reds have been losers for decades. Moves like letting Wade Miley start and get meaningful innings is only going to perpetuate this.

Since Wade Miley came off the injured list, he has made five starts.

So far, he hasn’t allowed more than two runs in a start. He has thrown at least six innings in four of those starts and thrown at least 7 innings in each of his last three starts.

Miley has the lowest ERA in the Reds rotation (2.85).

I dunno, you can find some really fun stuff about Winker as well. (ie, he needs to be benched for Ervin, etc)

Winker needs an OPS well north of .800 to make up for the rest of his game. He didn't start putting up those numbers until 2020. Ervin and Winker both had a 0.8 WAR in 2019. Winker was carrying a sub .750 OPS in mid June of 2019 so it's not hard to see why some people would want him benched at that point. I'm glad he turned it around and has become an elite hitter, but it was looking dicey there for a while plus he never really showed an elite bat in the minors.(.800 ops in AA and AAA).
