I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say if this happens, Bell should be on the hot seat.

This thread was quite predictive. As this thread title predicted, Wade Miley pitched the #4 no hitter of the year in MLB.

Chris Welsh has been preaching this his entire career. I’ve always agreed with him.

Exhibit B: the relative success of the two Cleveland pitchers last night.

Soft tossing LH's are preferred though. Plus these guys effectiveness really shines when it can be played off different types of hurlers in the rotation. Place a Miley in-between Castillo and a Hoffman type and it benefits them greatly, facing guys with memories of a FB diet the night before makes timing hard to grasp - if the pitcher has his touch and that's the biggest issue with soft tossing LH's, they need to have the touch, the ball has to be breaking that night or it's a HR Derby

This is important. I think it's also important to remember spin rate /= velocity, so the organizational emphasis on spin rate does not preclude soft tossers from being a part of the Reds future.

It's time they cloned Freddie Norman. They've got to have his DNA rights, don't they?

Soft-tossing lefties have been giving the Reds fits since forever.

As some of you know, Bronson Arroyo called his first game on radio last night. Heard a couple innings, and thought he was fine; much better than fine when he talked about pitching. I wonder how many broadcasters called a no-hitter in their first game. As many of you know, when Marty B called his first game, Aaron tied Ruth with 714.

    Stick to your guns.
