At least Tucker stung the ball. Gordon looked like Willy Mays Hayes from Major League.

    Also, Josiah Gray: meh.

I was more bothered by first-pitch swings by both of them.

This club needs to work on patience at the plate. Anyone else who swings first pitch the rest of the game should have to run 10 laps afterwards.

When they get to the season, sure. Right now it's early in ST and they're trying to get their bats activated. This is practice and they're working on discrete elements of their game.

Really, good pitching with the exception of Shipley. Five innings of 0 hit, 0 run ball, 10 K

Reilly O’Brien is my surprise pick to make the team. I expect a box of Lucky Charms if I’m right.

Steak pops out, Holder K's, and Shogo walks.

That's what ST is for. But, they do have a "fundamental" issue that's bigger than tweaks in their swing. They need to change their mindset and approach and it can only come from the staff. They won't do it individually as was proven during the 2020 season where the problem existed before that season began. Something against "routine as normal" has to change or it will just be more of the same.

But, like I said, brass addressed this with Shogo. An outfield of Shogo, Winker and Senzel is an excellent OBP group. Add Votto and Castellanos and we are really only talking about Suarez, SS, C and Moustakas, who doesn't fall into either category, leaning more towards a good OBP player, so it's just Suarez, who needs to figure it out himself and SS/C.

Guess it should be OK. I think I read to many woe-is-me posts following the 3-game sample size of the playoffs.

India is close to joining the team and he's a good OBP player, too.

Jake Outman at the plate for the Dodgers. He should have been a pitcher.
