Spring or not this teams overall performance has been rough. Losing hope they’ll even be competitive this year.

Accounting trick. When they rolled the inning, they credited him for a complete inning which improved his ERA to 31.00.

I'm not too concerned about Lorenzen. Winker should have caught that ball so his outing should have been 3 1/3 innings and 1 run.

Doolittle has a different feel to me. Has a 'I'm done, stick a fork in me" vibe. Hope I'm wrong. On the other hand Reds have a ton of depth for bullpen.

Reds go quietly 1-2-3. Winker, Barhart. Farmer.

I don’t love the losses, but still would preach patience on the individuals. Not saying they’ll all come through, but some just take awhile to be ready. Or, as with Doolittle, coming back from injury and rust may take awhile.

These are exhibitions with heavy use of players slated for the minors. I’d give it a couple of weeks.

Yes Doolittle looks all but done to me as well. Probably be placed on IL soon. Doubt he throws many if any innings this season.

Cionel Perez in and K's first hitter. And K's 2nd hitter. Anf then K's third hitter. Last one might have been a generous call.

Sadak advises speeding and then challenging the radar reading in court.

To me it’s just the complete lack of team hitting and scoring runs. Even the pirates have put up some big games. Reds struggling to score more then 3 runs a game in Arizona is alarming considering what we saw last year.

The DH being entirely off the table now absolutely kills this team too.

And then some not-so-suitable criticism of Lorenzen

    Naquin grounds out sharply.

Stevenson must have been fooled because he watches perfect pitch for strike 3.

Today’s 3-4-5 hitters are Barnhart, Farmer, and Naquin.

    Not exactly murderer’s row.

It’s natural for all of us to form conclusions, but these games are warmups, and tryouts for the fringe or young guys.

Hopefully in a week or so Reds will start to play semi-regular lineups and we’ll get a truer picture, good or bad.

My enjoyment of these games is watching the young players, whom I don’t see much.
