Seeing major league pitching and recognizing doesn't help much until you've seen it from each individual pitcher as all of them are different and unique. I think he can already hit Major League pitching if it was coming from a machine. But, coming from a different pitcher each time out, it's never the same pitch.

"Kings" De Leon having trouble throwing strikes. Walks two guys. And some of this strikes are guys chasing balls. But he strikes out 3 in the inning.

I’ve seen too many veteran pitchers struggle at the beginning of spring training who are fine by the end to worry to much about Doolittle.

He added a new pitch this off season, a curveball, so that may be the issue. He may have to abandon it.

De Leon K's two (including Soler) but walks a guy and gives up grounder to second, but because of shift no one was there.

He K's the last guy swinging on a ball out of the zone.

ERA down to 3.86. I still hope he gets an option so he can learn to pound the zone. But if not he's still in line for job.

Aquino hitting for Winker. He homered in a B game earlier today. In "real" games he hasn't hit the ball with authority and has .182 average.

He lines opposite field ball and (barely) stretches it to double. Maybe his best stroke of the season.

And then he TOOTBLAN's on grounder by Robinson.

They gave Robby a hit. Thought it would be a FC.

Smith K's (he's shown me nothing)

    Gruillon homers. That's his 2nd

Friedl pops out to end the inning. He's done nothing to impress people this spring.

De Leon working his third inning. 46 pitches now. K's his 7th hitter on 3-2 pitch

And then K's his 8th on 2-2 pitch.

And then gives up bit homer.

Titanic struggle for ball on the berm and I think the Reds fan wrestled it from the Royals fan.

    And then another homer.

    Wind is really blowing out

He gives up ground ball single thru the shift. Farmer dove and came up empty. Farmer normally gets that.

Next guy lines single to LF. 2 on one out.

Eight strikeouts for José De León in three innings.

He got strikeouts on fastballs, breaking balls and off-speed pitches. He got strikeouts swinging and strikeouts looking.

He allowed two straight homers at the end with two outs, but he had a great start to the outing.

It's teh way this team is built. We'll see a lot of that this year.
