I think that's most likely, assuming everyone's healthy.

Farmer can back up SS and 1B.

Moustakas can play 2B and 1B.

Suarez can play 3B and SS.

    India can also play 3B.

The infield is covered if one of the guys gets hurt or needs a breather.

It's tenuous, but that's what I suspect Krall will do (rather than DFAing Aquino).

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Not getting the Shogo hate. I thought by the last month of 2020, he got acclimated to MLB and showed himself as a useful player.

Reds fans are more fickle than a 7th grade girl, especially if power comes along with the latest crush

The Reds were really trying to compete last year. They wanted to improve the team primarily through free agency.
They had feelers out for multiple OF, including Shogo. Shogo was smart and signed relatively quickly.
If the Reds had been able to sign Castanallos earlier in the offseason, I don't know if they would have pursued Shogo as hard or not. My guess? They wouldn't have. Paying 7 million for a 4th OF is not a smart thing for a small market team like the Reds to do. There's a reason there's why it's never happened before Shogo (on the Reds).

The Reds basically acknowledged that Shogo was not a starting calibar player, both in their own words and by the fact that they continued to pursue other OF after they signed him. Hopefully he gets better and provides some value for the Reds this year.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

I hope everyone stays healthy, but Naquin and Senzel have been anything but iron men so far in their MLB careers. Shogo will get a shot soon enough. And I would definitely option Blandino once Shogo is ready to come off the DL. Farmer, India, Moustakas, and Suarez can play all over the infield, so getting guys regular rest won’t be an issue. And in an injury pinch, Castellanos can play an infield corner as well.

Yep. Some of us are old enough to remember Derek Dietrich's magical April of 2019. If memory serves, he also owned a bad Pirates team.

    Re: I'm not missing Shogo

Agree with most comments, one can see who’s hitting well and the practicalities.

But six OFers makes no sense for a 26-man roster. There are four IF positions to back up. The IF has a 37 year old member. It’ll be harder to rest infielders with only one backup.

If they go with six OFers, Reds will need to get Cast and/or Senzel ready to play IF on occasion. Or maybe injuries will moot the question.

Votto has a full no trade clause.

Why must this be said all the time?

And has been pointed out multiple times, many players with full no trade contracts have been traded. Everyone has a price.

If you have to pay to make him waive the clause AND pay to make him go away why bother? just bench him, if Bell won't do that then it's Bell's problem.
