Mac Sceroler with 12.9 K/9 in his short time in Baltimore. Color me intrigued. Clearly he's not ready, but he may have the stuff to be in the majors one day.

The Reds announced a couple of transactions this past week...
---The Reds signed righthanded pitcher Daniel Duarte out of the Mexican League, this is his second stint with the Reds as he was technically under contract with them for 3 months last season but never saw game action due to COVID. The 24 year old reliever has also played in the Rangers and Royals farm systems. He's been assigned to Arizona for the time being.
---The Reds released infielder Fraudys Jimenez. The Reds signed him back in 2017 out of the Dominican Republic, he hasn't seen game action since 2018 due to missing the 2019 season with injury and the 2020 season being canceled.
Some additional previously unannounced transactions...
The Reds have released the following players during the last six or so weeks...
-SP'er Omar Conoropo, the 23 year old Venezuelan signee from 2015 showed some success but his Reds stretch ends having never advanced out of Rookie Ball
-RP'er Ryan Dunne, the 26 year old NDFA from 2018 also never advanced out of rookie ball
-RP'er Ronard Soto, the 22 year old Dominican signee from 2016 showed some promise as a reliever after failing as a corner infielder
-1B Raul Juarez, the 23 year old Venezuelan signee from 2015 never advanced past Short season ball
-OF'er A.J. Bumpass, the 25 year old played one season with the Reds after ending his Univ. Cincinnati career
-OF'er Peterson Plaz, the 22 year old Venezuelan signee form 2015 played just 4 games in full season ball
This past Thursday the Reds released Shane Carle upon request, yesterday he signed a new AAA contract with the Mariners org.
The former Brave pitched fairly well for Louisville in 19 games this year, but was passed over numerous times in bullpen callups by the Reds.

The Reds have released Braden Shipley.
The 29 year old Shipley posted a 7+ ERA in 28 innings this year with Louisville.
His AAA roster spot goes to Max Schrock, who was reinstated from the MLB IL and optioned.
The Reds have set their 2021 DSL Roster.
All 15 of their 2021 International Free Agent Signees were assigned to the DSL squad.
They released the following 4 players...
SP Luis Aquino
OF Wilmer Alcantara
IF Agustin Bernal
IF Arian Castro
Aquino and Alcantara were both signed out of the Dominican on 7/2/18, Bernal and Castro were both signed on 7/2/19 (Bernal from Venezuela and Castro from the D.R.)
Aquino and Alcantara saw action with the DSL Reds in 2019. Bernal and Castro never saw a single game with the Reds org as they signed futures contracts and the 2020 season was canceled.
The Reds have released Scott Heineman.
Scott lost his 40 man spot with the club 2 weeks ago when he was outrighted.
The Reds released Jose De Leon.
In addition, this weekend they released the 26 year old RHRP Jesse Stallings.
Stallings was drafted by the Reds in the 15th round of the 2016 draft out of LSU (150K$ bonus). He was pitching in AA this season.
Jan Hernandez signed a minor-league contract with the Reds yesterday, he's been assigned to AAA Louisville.
Hernandez was the 96th overall pick in the 2013 draft, and he most recently played in the minors at Triple-A Lehigh Valley in 2019.
He began the 2021 campaign with the Kansas City Monarchs of the American Association.
The 26-year-old hasn't yet made his major-league debut, and he's slashed .258/.328/.447 with 26 home runs, 97 RBI, 97 runs and nine stolen bases in 164 games across his last two seasons in the minors.
The Reds have released 19 year old Esmil Torres, pretty sure it's due to a serious injury but I don't know for sure.
The Reds signed him in July of 2018 out of the Dominican Republic, he had a .404 OBP in 42 DSL games in 2019. He missed 2020 due to the season being canceled and only saw action in 3 games this year in the DSL.
Early this week the Reds released 2019 31st round draft pick Justin Gomez. The 24 year old catching roster casualty saw action in just 9 games with low A Daytona this season.
Gomez signed for the lowly sum of 5K$ when he was drafted.
---The Reds have released Errol Robinson.
The 26 year old MIF'er was acquired by the Reds from the Dodgers via the Rule 5 Draft (MiLB phase).
In 65 combined AA and AAA games this season he hit a measly .194-.309-.262.
---The Reds have released Edison Ovalles.
The 19 year old C'er was signed out of the D.R. in March of 2019.
He's missed the entire 2021 season due to an injury.
