Unless the Reds plan on holding Steer out until May 2023, it doesn't make a difference to team control whether they call him up today, September 1st, or Opening Day 2023. Call him up!
It doesn't take a month to see if a guy is ready. Should be able to tell in one day of watching him if you have any abilities at all as a member of a baseball Minor League Development Team.

Interesting. I'm fine with it, but he wasn't really hitting in Daytona.

I feel like the Reds, correctly, do not like to keep hitting prospects in Daytona too long. It seems to kill offensive numbers. Will be interesting to see what Allen does in Dayton. I honestly do not really pay much attention to Reds prospects until they get to Dayton - both positively and negatively. Unless you are striking out at a 50% clip like Hendrick.
What would you say.....ya do here?
Hector Rodriguez slapped around ACL hurlers for a week (1.184 OPS), and now has been bumped up to Daytona. He singled in three trips, to go along with a walk, for the 'Tugas in his first game.

Brandon Williamson left today's Bats game with what appeared to be an injury. He had a tough start to the 4th inning and in the middle of the 5th PA of the inning the trainer, manager, and pitching coach came out and after a short talk he walked off the mound.
