Re: 2021 MLB In-Season General Discussion

Despite a previously scheduled off-day on Friday, the Nats and Mets will not make up their postponed opening day game tomorrow.

They may not play at all this weekend, multiple Nationals players have tested positive for COVID (1 is symptomatic at the moment)...the entire team is self-quarantining.

I notice that ex-Red Kevin Gausman is the Giants Opening Day starter and he's shut out the Mariners through 5 innings. I never saw #1 starter in this guy but I'm happy for him

ehh, pretty much the same as an internet tough guy....talking sh*t to someone when there is no threat of consequence (like losing teeth and getting his azz beat). Maybe it is just me, but I kinda liked the romantic days of guys talking sh*t when they knew they better have the azz to back it up. Trust me, there were many times when I knew to keep my mouth shut because I did not want to take a chance on a bad outcome.

would have been nice to extend him for a couple years on a reasonable salary. Giants got him for a little over $3M last year, but signed him for $18.9M this season. If he continues to pitch like he did today, it would be a value.

It seemed like he was mostly joking around. It’s just baseball, not that serious.

I'll never understand why MLB insists on having an "OFF" day the day after Opening Day.

Wanna feel old? By the end of the season Mike Trout will almost be exactly as old as Griffey Jr when he was traded to the Reds in Feb. 2000 (it's within a month).
