I think the All-Star game itself would be more interesting if they employed reverse strategy. Start the second tier players and bring in the best guys for the second half of the game to actually try to win it. It would probably keep people watching longer too.

Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. -- Carl Sagan (Pale Blue Dot)

Yeah. the sound off the bat was quite something.
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

    Glad he's someone else's problem.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Sure but you can make that game up later in the season. It's not like the Reds and Cardinals don't play each other several more times.

You can’t make up opening day in Cincinnati.

DeWine is lifting attendance limits for outdoor events so will the Reds and Indians be able to sell out again? There's a caveat that you still have to social distance so I'm not sure if he'll allow 40K but I think they'll surely be able to sell more than 12K tickets

50% capacity probably has something to do with that decision.
