Yeah, it’s unfortunate but there is no reason to factor him into future plans.

I guess he could be floated for a decent return, but it’s probably wiser to just keep him around as a 4th OF.

When he comes back, if he can put a decent streak out there, I’d deal him immediately.

    Deep breaths, y'all.
I bet he is OKAY...but, what about the rest of his non injured body parts? I don't trust him man. I hope he stays healthy for a month or two and hits .400 with pop..then trade him before he dies on the field.

I wouldn’t trade Senzel, I’d just leave him alone. Maybe work with him on self-protection in CF. Some guys just have bad injury luck at times.

When Shogo gets back from his own injury, Reds will have better outfield protection.

He has zero value at this point, so trading him isn’t really an option.

I hate to make any bold knee jerk proclamations after half a game, but I think I might be ready to file Nick under the “bust” category. He’s super talented, as evidenced by the catch he got injured on. But man, he might be legitimately the most fragile athlete I’ve ever seen in my life.
You haven’t met me...... 9 orthopedic surgeries mostly related to wrestling and baseball in my youth

But I agree it’s become a challenge to think he’s ever going to be healthy

Nick Senzel tried his hand at fencing, one time.

watching the play, it appeared to me that the catch was not really what caused the injury.....but the throw appeared to tweak something.

It is an enormous bummer that it feels like the best case scenario is that maybe if you’re lucky he’ll put together a half season or so where he can stay on the field and be productive, and then just hope you have a decent backup for him for the other half of the season he’ll inevitably miss.

Will never last long as a CF/top 3 hitter every day. Needs protection with a less demanding role.

This may sound weird, but I think Senzel tries too hard and goes beyond his regular athleticism. He needs to just play his game, let his talent show, and get some MLB-level playing time in and calm the heck down. Don’t try to do too much.

I feel like he is Pete Rose without Rose's body. Hard to tell him no so you know he will never stop. He will sacrifice an entire season for whatever it takes. I fear injury but I admire his heart.
