Pregame and postgame with Charlie Walter

Borrowing this from the game thread...

Where y’all at on this dude?

Seems like he’s always a bit uncomfortable.

Local kid apparently-went to Ohio U.

    I prefer Hoard or Giesenschlag

It is obvious Walter is new at his job. He worked a handful of games in the studio last year during COVID but hopefully he will get better with experience. Giesenschlag appears to have priority with the Blue Jackets games and with the NHL regular season stretching into mid-May and potentially later with a playoff run, we better get used to Charlie Walter since FOX Sports Ohio let veteran Jeff Piecoro go during the off-season. It is obvious they wanted to go younger and this is what we are stuck with.

He’s a little green but I think he’s fine. I thought he was good last abbreviated season. Give him a little time. He’s got a little snark which I like.

i just hate that Welch seems to have been benched....I'm sure we'll get him soon especially on the road but he's way better than Larkin

Remember Friendly Freddy from the old Gomer Pyle USMC show? he reminds me of him.
I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.

I think he's doing a good job. The entire broadcast is roughly 10 billion times better this year.
