After two series, the Reds TEAM Slash is .316/.400/.602 with a team OPS of 1.002

    .316/.400/.602 with a team OPS of 1.002

That's currently 50 points ahead of the second place Dodgers and 109 better than the Astros in team OPS.

I find it wild that two NL teams have better team OPS than the best AL team despite hitting pitchers.

Reds are 1st in OPS, 2d in BA and OBP (both to the Dodgers) and 1st in SLG.

Despite missing Sonny Gray and the game 1 Castillo implosion, Reds pitching is 4th in WHIP with 1.02. ... but the team is also tied for 1st with HR allowed with 10. Leaving GABP tomorrow should help with that though.

Reds are now headed to AZ to face a staff that is 27th in WHIP and a lineup that is 18th in .OPS.

    Let's keep this going!

I just saw a wild stat on Reddit, but after last night the 2021 Reds have already scored a fifth of the runs the 2020 Reds scored in all 60 games. Its probably a lot higher after today’s 11 runs too, I suck at math.

The Reds have scored more runs in the past 24 hours than 19 teams have scored all season.

Since Nick got hit by St. Louis the Reds have outscored their opponents 45-13

Of the 13 position players, all but Saurez and Blandino have been consistently hitting the ball HARD.

Votto is going to get his if he keep this up.

Saurez has 9 ks in 18 AB... I hope he is going to return once he can get playing SS out of his head... I think the position change is distracting him, at least in terms of game preparation.

Want top celebrate good eyes? Senzel has 5 walks to only three Ks... which would impress more if Moose didnt have an amazing 7 walks to only one K.

At the other end of the spectrum, India's 5 K to 0 walks is a bit concerning... and in a very un-Votto stat, he has 4 ks to one walk... however, i think this is because of a new approach to the plate where he is focusing on hitting the ball hard because he knows he currently does not scare opposing staffs like he should.

They're up to 23.5% of their 2020 run total.

Most years, early on, no one on the Reds is hitting over .250 and I look at other box scores and wonder how teams like the Dodgers have 5 of their 9 position players hitting over .300.

I heard MLB has made changes to the baseball to cut down on home runs and runs scored.

I'm as euphoric as anyone, but I can't help but notice that Suarez has yet to join the party. He is far and away the team leader in K's with 9. The outside slider has always been his weakness (as it is for many players). Three times I have noticed that with two strikes pitchers throw the outside slider and he waves at it. It is no doubt a good pitch and he is likely protecting. Still, it seems to me that he could realize this pattern and lay off the pitch.

Votto isn't going to hit .200 this year and Suarez isn't going to hit .111. I find it very encouraging that we are seeing this kind of production despite their poor starts.

The Reds have five guys in the OPS top 25 in all of baseball.

It'd be swell if that continues all season.
