Cubs get to face DeGrom in Queens today.
They are kind of the anti-Reds. They have solid bullpen, and they actually care about defense and make an effort there. But their emphasis on solid defensive players leaves their lineup really thin and weak. They have good pitching but are susceptible to good pitching as well.
Add it all up, and overall they seem pretty evenly matched with the also flawed-but-not-terrible Reds.

They stopped pursuing big bats and put their energy in less expensive areas of the game.
They might be able to ride that horse for a good part of the season too, but if their pitchers waiver they're in a spot because those bats can't carry them far
