You mean the Cardinals that FCB couldn't see the Reds possibly catching about two weeks ago, those Cardinals?
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Les Whinen from Fox sports had the Cardinals as his NL world series favorite this week.
(Referring to Jack Hannahan signing with a Korean team)
Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

Looks like luck and the league has caught up with John Giant.

Cardinals lose, Reds take sole possession of third place.

They now have the same winning percentage as the Yankees, Angels, and the Phillies.

Cubs and Brewers tied for first place.
Reds in third place just 5 games back and only 4 games back in the loss column.

This division is the Three Little Pigs division, except nobody is building a brick house yet.

Yes, those same Cards the Reds swept the 4 game series from.

Ten games ago we were 6 games behind them.

We’ve gained 7 games on them during that time, and FCB has gone into hiding.

They are kind of the anti-Reds. They have solid bullpen, and they actually care about defense and make an effort there. But their emphasis on solid defensive players leaves their lineup really thin and weak. They have good pitching but are susceptible to good pitching as well.

Add it all up, and overall they seem pretty evenly matched with the also flawed-but-not-terrible Reds.

They stopped pursuing big bats and put their energy in less expensive areas of the game.

They might be able to ride that horse for a good part of the season too, but if their pitchers waiver they're in a spot because those bats can't carry them far
