Farmer should be strictly SS back-up and pinch hitter. If they're going to sit India I would much rather they use Blandino, or bring on a lefty like Schrock.
I think I'd rather they had kept Holder and moved on from Farmer, but that would have cost an extra 500k.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re rewarding Farmer for being a team player and working hard on the shortstop thing only to get benched at the end of spring training. Especially when it’s splitting hairs between him and Blandino starting. They seem to like something about Farmer anyway.

Bell writes the lineup for a entire series at the beginning of each series. He only adjusts due to injury.
India knew Friday that he would be sitting today.
That is why the Reds lineup is always one of the first lineup out every day on the gambling sites.
Not sure I get all the hate for Farmer. He's a utility infielder. It's not uncommon for a utility infielder to have an OPS in the .650-.700 range, which is historically what Farmer has provided. What is uncommon is to have a utility infielder who can also serve as the team's 3rd catcher. That has value that can't be measured in all the fancy metrics.

The lineup is fine, no problem giving Farmer a start. Looking for a good start by DeLeon. He has good stuff, would like to see it all come together for him.

Pretty sure Farmer had one of the best averages on the team last year, why is he getting so much hate? The power wasn't there but that's not really a big deal for a utility guy in this lineup.

LOL. It's fine, I've said my peace re: Farmer. I think there are better options out there. Reds can reward his cool personality and hard work all they want, but at some point his career 69 OPS+ may need to be upgraded.
