We spotted Castillo 4 runs before he threw a single pitch. He immediately gave that up.
Also, we still scored 6 runs. If you score 6 runs you should win. No excuses.

You may be right about Naquin being a better player, but I don't see anything clear about it. Aquino, age 26, has an .825 OPS in 265 career at bats. Naquin, age 29, has a .780 OPS in 970 career at bats. Aquino wasn't good last year in a small sample size - .623 OPS in 56 at bats, but Naquin was about the same, .632 OPS in 133 at bats.

Seems to be that what a player is and a guy who's more refined vs. ceiling/upside debate.
Naquin is more polished and probably is a better player right now. He also clearly has talent as he was a first round draft pick.
Aquino may one day be as good or better. Or he may not.
It seems one of the bigger things that's held Naquin back has been injury after injury. The biggest thing holding Aquino back has been overall lack of consistency, breaking pitches, and pitch recognition. Those are things a lot of players in his position never quite figured out including our old friend Wily Mo Pena.
Not to say Naquin doesn't have his holes or weaknesses as almost all players do. But I had my doubts about Aquino up here especially with that stance of his. Heard other players have had similar stances with success and he got white hot and hoped I could be wrong. Then he came crashing back to earth and hasn't apparently done much of anything to make the Reds feel like he's taken a leap forward from that since.

None of the college basketball broadcasters were at the event.
How about they keep them both. Get rid of one of these pitchers and force Bell to make better decisions with his bullpen. He still is not very good at player game management with the constant shortage of bench players in close games. You can also stretch out some other relievers and have them go 2 in some games. He can get by without 1 extra bullpen guy.

Naquin has 970 career at bats. Aquino has 266, and his lifetime stats have really been buoyed by that hot 1 month he had when he first came up. Pitchers have adjusted to him. Naquin makes better contact (277 BA, 325 OBP career). Naquin can play CF and is a better defender than Aquino. The only thing Aquino is better at is power, but Aquino struggles so much to make contact, his power tool is less useful.
Naquin just profiles as a much more useful player, especially in a backup role.
Now if you asked me whether I would rather have Shogo or Aquino and there was hypothetically no financial reasons involved, I would have to think about that.
