I thought DeLeon looked fairly filthy tonight in a small sample.

DeLeon has lapses and loses command too often. I’m not sure it relates to starting or relieving. He may just have trouble repeating what works for him.

But his stuff is very high caliber.

Doolittle has only given up runs in one appearance this season and he's striking out over 14 per 9. He's not a dominant high leverage guy anymore but he's a perfectly adequate reliever

The move was indeed Bedrosian.

I clearly thought Sal would be first, but I’m pretty okay with this move and I trust the judgement of the reds pitching brass to make the right call. Disappointed Bedrosian didn’t work out though, thought that was a solid move.

They keep talking about pitchers with options being extra valuable this season for a reason. If the Reds go and DFA their worst pitcher every time they make a roster move they'll be forced to throw Nick Howard by July...

For the record, I'm ready to DFA Sal now (once the opportunity comes)...

Per David Bell, Michael Lorenzen received some good news and was cleared to start his throwing.

On Sal Romano: 20.2 innings, 12 ER. 6 runs in 2/3 of an inning against the Dodgers on April 28. Take out that appearance and he's given up 6 ER over 20 innings. On this pitching staff, he's becoming a bright spot. He should be getting more work rather than less. His K rate needs to be higher, to be sure, but he may actually be moving toward being a valuable piece of the solution.

I thought he was pretty solid in 2018, 2019 and even 2020 with the exception of July. I think if we had the version of Lorenzen that finished last season in the bullpen right now, it would be a material improvement.
