Fourth round pick and he becomes a Cy Young winner. And he’s far from the only example of guys they either drafted in the later rounds or acquired in trades as minor leaguers who wound up being excellent starting pitchers.

Hopefully The Reds are starting to make a name for themselves in that regard too. A guy like Tejay Antone still has a lot to prove but he’s looking pretty good and was a 5th round pick.
I wanted to trade Scooter Gennett for Double A Bieber and some people got mad at me for that idea.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I do hate those last minute time calls.

I still blame Cueto’s injury in 2012 on that.

Bieber has shown a couple of examples today that he can get a little flustered. Maybe step out on him a bit more?

Green lighting Tucker Barnhart on 3-0 made me choke on my water.

Much better inning no matter the outcome - getting his pitch count up early given Bieber had 113 in his last outing is important.
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

Re: 4-18-21 Reds vs Indians 1:10pm

I checked Naquin history with CLE and expected Reggie Taylor numbers. Then I see his 2 seasons with his most AB. 2016 321 AB. 296/372/514 with 14 HR. 2019 with 274 AB 10 HR. 288/325/467. This isn’t some bad hitter that’s getting playing time. Senzel may be the better prospect but he’s not doing much better then Naquin. Long term Senzel has to play when healthy.
