Certainly something to track but it is only 15 PA this year and his slash the last 2 weeks is .271 .340 .583 .923 and even better the past week.

Plus his slash line this season vs Left Handed starters is: 500/.500/1.500/2.000 it is vs LHP as relievers where he has struggled this year. (yeah it is only 4 PA vs starters but it is all tiny samples at this point.)

I don't think I'd pay much attention to any stats yet this year other than current streaks. Joey is hitting. If somebody should sit, it's Senzel who has 2 hits since April 10th. I don't think Naquin or Payton should play and I don't think Farmer can play CF, so I'm OK with this group. I'd simply flip flop Stephenson and Senzel in the batting order.

I agree that Joey needs an off day soon, but they need a win, so he plays. Rest when the team is out of it's losing rut.

    Former Reds hitting coach dies
Former Major League player and coach Tom Robson died on Tuesday at Arizona. Robson, who was the Reds’ hitting coach under manager Bob Boone in 2003, was 75 years old. Among family members of Robson is Moustakas, who is his nephew.
    same article re Moustakis
The medical team determined that Moustakas wasn’t likely coming back before next week.

“So, it was just a decision we had to make, and hopefully he just keeps improving,” Bell said. “He went to the doctor today and it kind of eased his mind and we have a much better idea of what it is. He’s going to get over it in the next couple few days, and then we’ll kind of get him back feeling good, having good hard workouts, have him ready to go on Tuesday.”

Hope he at least called in sick. Last guy that was dead didn't even call.

I doubt Hendrix will get in if the game is close. They really need to ease him in use him in low leverage games. To see if he is going to throw strikes or not. His stuff is good enough if he controls it. Hembree has a very good spin rate.
Seems like pitchers called up in situations like this almost always see action right away, that's why they are up, fresh arms.

Maybe it’s just depression. Votto sat out due to his fathers passing as well in 2009? I think.

it was a roster crunch. With Cast suspended and Moose not available they didn't want to play two bats down, so they brought Blandino back.

For years people complained that the Reds would always play with too many people down and not putting them on the IL.

Senzel has hit in very bad luck. He’s not lost, his luck is lost.

His xBA is .293, his xwOBA is .376 though his actuals are much lower. These expected hitting percentages would make him above average for the Reds in both BA and wOBA.

He’s only striking out 16.7% and BB rate is over 11%. Only Moose has a better BB/K ratio among Reds starters.

Nick’s BABIP is .256 despite an LD rate of 23.1.
