Quick note on rosters, just like the big league roster, minor league affiliates have reserve lists and active lists.
Prior to 2021, AAA had a 38 man reserve/ 25 man active, AA had a 37 man reserve/25 man active, A+ had a 35 man reserve/25 man active, A had a 35 man reserve/25 man active, AZL & DSL had 35 man reserve/30 man active rosters.
Active lists for minor league affiliates this year have all been increased. AAA and AA will have 28 man active lists, fullseason A+ and A will have 30 man active lists, shortseason AZL and DSL will have 35 man active lists.
There is no Active List roster limit for the Reds Extended Spring Training and post-season Instructional Leagues ("instructs") squads.
In addition, a player on a minor league "rehabilitation" or "conditioning" assignment does not count against the Active List or Reserve List of the affiliate to which he is assigned.
