Since 4/9 India is hitting .130/.241/.239 - maybe this is a way to just get him out of the lineup until AAA starts and they will send him down. He’s pretty clearly not ready.

I'm thinking when Shogo comes back. Shogo in CF, Senel at 2b.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I hope they haven't given up on India already. What... 60 ABs?

Who said anything about giving up on him?

There’s nothing wrong with getting more development at AAA.

Rookie gets to the bigs and starts out hot, pitchers adjust, happens all the time, now it is time for the hitter to adjust. If they thought he was good enough to open the season as the starting 2b, then it would be dumb to send him down now.

Since 4/9 he has a 9.3% BB rate, 27.8% K rate, hardly showing that he is overmatched. His BABIP is .161, some of which can be explained by not great exit velocities, but give the man a chance to also adjust.

    Agree.

Besides, the Reds have 14 pitchers. When Shogo comes up they should DFA Romano and use DeLeon as the mop up guy. Or option DeLeon. They don’t need to send down a position player. 13 pitchers should be enough.

We are still early enough in the season that one good game can add 50-100 OPS points on the season's stats, and one bad game it can go down a bunch (India's last game had his OPS go down 34 points.

The average major league 2B has a .701 OPS, India has a .675.

In other words, it's early. Still.
