Games of Sunday, September 12:
The farmhands are making me choose today. There were two strong performances worthy of a macePOD, but since one came in a win and one in a loss, that's going to be the differentiator. That's good news for Randy Wynne, who becomes our player of the day. His strong performance (7 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 5 K) led Chattanooga to a 6-0 victory over Tennessee. After having an ERA over 7 in late July, he's really turned it around and cut more than two runs off of it since then.
Honorable mention goes to Jonathan Willems of Dayton (3-4, 2B, HR, R, 4 RBI, 2 SB). His grand slam put the Dragons up 5-1 in the 6th, only to have the bullpen give up six runs to Lake County the next inning and waste it. At least he has the honorable mention to show for his efforts.
Best of the rest:
Mike Freeman, Louisville: 2-3, BB
Hunter Greene, Louisville: 4 IP, 3 R, 1 ER, 4 H, BB, 3 K (don't feel to bad for him about the unearned runs, they came on his own error on a wild pickoff throw to 1st, although he did successfully pick off a runner earlier)
Zach Lee, Louisville: 3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 3 K
Leonardo Rivas, Chattanooga: 3-4, 3B, BB
Chuckie Robinson, Chattanooga: 1-3, HR, BB, R, RBI
Miguel Hernandez, Chattanooga: 1-3, BB, R, RBI
TJ Hopkins, Chattanooga: 1-4, BB, R, RBI
Matt Lloyd, Chattanooga: 1-3, 2 BB, R
Jay Schuyler, Chattanooga: 2-3, RBI
Miguel Figueroa, Chattanooga: IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K
Juan Martinez, Dayton: 2-4, RBI
Matt McLain, Dayton: 1-4, BB, R, 2 SB
James Proctor, Dayton: 4 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 4 BB, 6 K
Brandon Leyton, Daytona: 3-5, 2 R
Jose Torres, Daytona: 2-3, BB, RBI
Justice Thompson, Daytona: 2-4
Rece Hinds, Daytona: 2-5
Alberto Gonzalez, Daytona: 2.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K, picked up the win in relief
Scoreboard:

Chattanooga 6, Tennessee 0
Lake County 7 Dayton 5
