    Manfred, MAN!

Manfred strikes again and this likely gives some insight to the Reds weather debacle from a few weeks ago.

TL, DR? MLB teams can’t play a game under protest anymore.

On the flip side has playing under protest ever actually resulted in anything being undone?

    Was Angel Hernandez the umpire?

    Sorry about that. My mistake.

I could have sworn that was MM, not BTO.

    Pine Tar Game.

Originally, George Brett was called out for the final out of the game, and the Yankees won 4-3. After a successful KC protest, Brett's two-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning counted (though he was still ejected following his tirade), and the Royals took a 5-4 lead. Dan Quisenberry retired the Yankees in order in the bottom of the ninth to preserve the win for Kansas City.
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

The answer is yes. The most famous example is the George Brett pine tar game. Every now and again a protest is upheld. But it is rare.

Protests that were upheld, Bowie Kuhn (who was worse than Manfred) had a few

So just one was overturned in the last 35 years and the last two had to do with rain delays. In some respects the prevalence of video should make overturning more common as there would be preserved evidence but in theory the review process should eliminate a number of times when it would be considered.

Exactly, also the idea that umpires today are the worst ever is refuted by video as well, I imagine video review would have destroyed a few umpires careers in the past; if it does today it will kill them before they get out of the ML
