Interesting lineup. DH makes this an unusual series in terms of Reds lineup.

Key thing for me is Moose at first and Suarez at third. Votto injury leads (at least for today) to moving Suarez out of shortstop.

Farmer is better defensively at short, so he gets in, and Senzel to second as we’ve seen recently. India to bench.

If this tells me anything it’s that Suarez at short could be on borrowed time.

No India, interesting, when coupled with Suarez moved back to 3B and the DH.

I will again make my request to call up Garcia.

If indeed this reflects that Suarez is being phased out at short - then Garcia could be around the corner.

Yeah, if they are indeed sliding Suarez off of SS, even if just for the next month, I would call up Garcia and go with the best D at short.

Suarez, Garcia, India/Senzel, Moustakas makes for a pretty decent infield.

Also, cool to have Shogo back. I hope he picks up where he left off during the 2nd half of last year.

Btw, it's only 3 games, but Garcia is mashing at AA:

    2 HR. 1.203 OPS.

Bronson Arroyo will join Tommy Thrall to make his Reds Radio Network debut this weekend as the Reds head to Cleveland to play for the OhioCup! The series will also mark the first on-site road broadcasts since 2019.

Ideally you'd wait for Garcia to make a louder case for a call up (i.e. more than 3 games) but those are the consequences of the Reds "zero SS" strategy this off-season

Trying to figure out what this looks like in an NL game, and I don't think this means Suarez is done at short. I don't see any reason Naquin should continue to get regular at-bats, but that leaves the Senzel/India problem. Something like:

    1. Jesse Winker LF
    2. Nick Castellanos RF
    3. Mike Moustakas 1B
    4. Eugenio Suarez SS
    5. Nick Senzel 2B
    6. Shogo Akiyama CF
    7. Tucker Barnhart C
    8. Jonathan India 3B

    I really don't know.

I wanna see Senzel everyday. at 2b vs rhp and in CF vs. LHP. Shogo vs. RHP in CF . Would like to see Tucker at 1b vs RHP and Stephenson Catching. Vs. LHP You have to rest Stephenson some so Tucker catches and Naquin slides to 1b. put Farmer at 1B. Send India to AAA where he can play everyday. Naquin becomes a bench bat/ once a week start. Call up Heineman for India. Play Blandino I guess at 2b vs. LHP
However this shakes out Shogo is making 7 mil. There are not going to sit him much for Naquin. Unless he don't hit at all.
My wishes is a lot of moving parts. I just hope we don't see Farmer starting more than once a week.
Oh and I am a fellow Wildcat fan as well.

I actually think Bronson will be better than Larkin at this.
