Whatever he ends up doing on the field, I’ll be curious to see.
They're playing this season with Luis Castillo tied behind their back.
I'm not a system player. I am a system.
Castillo has only batted 8 times so it is a bit too small of a slash line to say he is broken. His slash line however is: .125/.222/ .250/.472
Suarez has a bigger sample size but his slash line is: .130/.223/.296/.519
The BA and OBP are nearly identical but Suarez has a bit of an edge thanks to the slugging percentage being a bit better.

I would say my concern has elevated from none in the first few starts to which I deemed early season/cold weather struggles to some concern. Yesterday definitely has me raising an eyebrow as I thought he was starting to show some signs of getting out of his funk. Each passing struggle will raise my level a bit.

"Today was the byproduct of us thinking we can come back from anything." - Joey Votto after blowing a 10-1 lead and holding on for the 12-11 win on 8/25/2010.

Welsh gave some great insight on the broadcast yesterday. Anything down is a change up. Anything up is a fastball. It’s a game of adjustments and Castillo needs to either or get off the pot. All the spin rate stuff has gone over the top, as most of these newest and brightest things do. You can’t put everyone in the same small box. As a former HS baseball coach, I believe the best way with good talent is to simply tweak what a guy has...don’t try to change everything and everyone to the latest greatest theories. Give them the freedom to just play.

Swap Antone and Castillo. Antone looks plenty poised and has control enough to go 5 innings. And Castillo can just air it out for 15 pitches every 2-3 days. Probably net neutral at worst and likely a net benefit. We’d certainly still be in more games after the 4th inning going forward. At this point Castillo literally removes any chance of victory every 5th day.
With today’s rainout I’d say they should just skip Castillo and let him work things out then make the following start.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.
