Is Castillo broken?

Mondesi isn’t even up with the Royals this year and he has a career .284 OBP. Why would the reds want him?

I'd take him in a heartbeat. He's a 2.0-3.0 bWAR SS that has good speed and plays good D. A combination that no-one on this team currently has. Also he's rehabbing in injury in AAA and will be called up soon per reports.

I had that same hypothesis, but just looking at some of his monthly splits over his career, he just looks to be inconsistent. Although I do certainly believe he does not pitch well in cold weather, but once in warmer weather he is still streaky it seems.

I really loved him leading with the fastball and using it for punch-outs. I think the league adjusted to his heavy change-up usage and just started to lay-off or even look for it.

I doubt Hoffman can do that in any future start. He hasn’t come close to that in any start so far this year.
