DAYTONA - Daytona finishes its series with Palm Beach, winning 7-3. The victory moves their record to 4-2.

Clutch hitting was at a premium, as the two teams combined to go 1-16 w/RISP.

On a sour note, shortstop Ivan Johnson committed 3 errors today, giving him 6 for the year. And youngster Austin Hendrick is having a rough adjustment to pro ball. He is hitting .097 with an OPS of .377.

CHATTANOOGA - pounded the Pandas 7-1. Revier Sanmartin only allowed 1 hit in his five innings. Wes Robertson and Ryan Olson each posted a scoreless frame.

Narciso Crook showed a little pop with a double and a home run (2).
    Yoel Yanqui singled twice.
Mark Kolozsvary singled and doubled to cap a blistering week. He is hitting .636 to go along with an OPS of 2.295.

The farm went 14-9 on the week: Louisville (1-4), Chattanooga (4-2), Dayton (5-1) and Daytona (4-2).

    Next weeks has the following:

    Louisville travels to Gwinnett.
Chattanooga hits the road to Montgomery.
    Dayton hosts Lancaster.
Daytona will be at home against St. Lucie.

Some musings after the first series:

-- At the beginning of the season, the Reds had five, maybe six guys who looked like decent bets for spots on the major league staff. After a week of games, they have five or six starters that look legitimate. Greene, Lodolo, Santillan, Gutierrez, Richardson, and maybe Noah Davis-- all of them dominated. (Richardson twice.) That gives me hope for the major league squad moving forward.

-- Lots of suspects starting the season hot. McAfee, Cerda, Yang, Lopez, McGarry, Rey, Lantigua, Hopkins, Kolozsvary-- it'll be fun to see if that's just helium, or if it's a sign of actual development. (Or most likely, some from column A and some from column B.)

-- Of all the top offensive prospects, Jose Garcia has been the hottest and best.

-- Ivan Johnson has the yips. Three errors yesterday and three more today. That's... not ideal for a SS.

So, you're saying we're still waiting for Goudeau.
