He's not very good but that half swing just falling fair for a ground rule double isn't something you have much control over.

I hope this isn't a game where the Reds regret using up all the runs yesterday.

And now they get one anyway on a wild pitch.

Don't know why Barnhart didn't just try and body block it.

Hoffman is a depth guy. He is what he is. We should just be grateful we got a month of solid starts out of him. With Lorenzen clearly being out for awhile id look into signing Cole Hamels.
What would you say.....ya do here?

Tucker w/ the lazy backhand instead of blocking that one. It happens, but not very often w/ him.

that's on barnhart. you pound the turf (which is always stupid when catchers do that) then you don't block the pitch.

I dunno but I thought Hoffman looked as sharp that inning as he has all year. Both of those hits were weakly hit on good pitches.

I really don't get the "Hoffman is horrible" narrative. He's simply an okay 5th starter. Nothing great, but not horrible by any means.

I don’t think he’s bad at all. He’s not a #1, but his stuff has been pretty good.

I like how if you weren't following the game you'd think he gave up 5 runs in the first there based on some of the reactions on here.
