At worse he is a good as Mike Freeman I bet.

    From C. Trent today

During the team’s alternate site work, Louisville manager Pat Kelly raved about infielder Alejo Lopez. Kelly said Lopez was a no-doubt future big-league player. I’ve heard that through the years. Every manager who has had him on their team loves him.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Actually Lopez is showing a bit more power, though not so much in the HR category as in doubles. 2019: 22 XBH in 539 PA, this year 20 in 200. Significant improvement. An XBH every 10 PA's. Currently the Reds are paying a guy $7 million who gets an XBH about every 24. Can Lopez play CF? If it's at all possible, I'd start working him there immediately.

Play him at 3B. Move Suarez back to SS. Or try India at SS and play Lopez at 2B. Don’t give this crap about well let’s work him slowly because it’s not fair to him or the players who have been here. Before you know it he’s rotting on the bench.

Anything to get Farmer out of the starting lineups. They can bring Kyle in as a late-inning defensive replacement for Suarez, moving Geno to 3B or bench. But Lopez should get some starts at 3B.

I would leave India alone. He is playing great. Don't need to mess with him. Just move Suarez back to SS. Sacrifice Defense for hopefully Offence from Lopez at 3b.

You just know he's going to accrue 11 scattered PA over the next two weeks, then get sent back down.

Yeah, and imo, that is a shame, having the hottest hitter get the call, just so he can waste away on the bench.

That happens a lot. Give the kid the day to get acclimated. I bet he gets a start soon enough.

This team has to be the worst at letting a young player get comfortable and figure things out. They have jerked Senzel, Aquino, and Stephenson all over the place. I am glad to see them rolling with India consistently.
