Bell seemed confident that Senzel would be in the lineup today. I guess he was wrong.
Thoughts on the lineup:
If Hoffman stays in long enough to bat the lineup will feature:
3 guys in a row whose first name starts with a "J", 2 in a row call Tyler, a Barn followed by a Farmer, and perhaps a MLB record of 3 guys whose first name include "yle"
That is all, Carry on.
PS: Send down Shogo to get at bats and bring up Alf Rod.

That is about the best 8 they can put on the field right now. With guys out.
DH removal was strike one for Shogo. Naquin hitting well was strike two.
Too bad, hard to see a spot opening for him near term.

Agreed, which is why he needs to be in Louisville until they trade Naquin (which I think is coming sooner rather than later).

I actually think Hoffman is fine for a 5th stater, he's been about league average overall. Hope he can hang in there tonight .
The problem is most of the rest of the rotation underperforming.

Right-hander Trevor Richards is going along with shortstop Willy Adames to the Brewers in exchange for relievers Drew Rasmussen and J.P. Feyereisen, sources tell ESPN. That's the full trade.

Wow Adames didn't bring much back. If the reds had just held onto their pitching depth instead of giving it away, they may have been able to make a deal for Adames.

Goudeau will be in the Reds bullpen and the team will likely use someone else in Wade Miley's spot in the rotation, David Bell said. It'll likely be one of the three of José De León, Vladimir Gutiérrez or Tony Santillan, all of whom are on the 40-man roster.
