There is a comma in the thread title, so I think his name is Perez Warren.

I certainly hope they don’t pitch meaningful innings and are there to absorb a beating if necessary.

But it’s also an opportunity for them to look good and move up the food chain. I still remember going to an Astros-Reds game long ago and Houston brought in a rookie named Roy Oswalt. I thought “fresh meat, the Reds ought to feast on this guy” and then he proceeded to mow the Reds down.

Jeff Hoffman has a shoulder impingement. No surgery needed, David Bell said. He returned to Cincinnati today for an examination. #Reds

Hoffman to DL, Warren, Perez up

How often have we seen that statement about shoulder impingement and it needs no surgery turn out to be wrong?

    No, I think he's married.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

I'd give Homer a call, only after a hard no from Harang, Dessens, Neagle, Harnisch, and 50 Cent.

Goudeau sent back down today for Vlad. Surprised Perez wasn't the one sent down. Goudeau looked good small sample.

Re: Hoffman to DL, Warren, Perez up

Reds starting pitcher Jeff Hoffman started a rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville Tuesday.

Sidelined since May 27, Hoffman will build up as a starter and increase his workload with each rehab start. It’s possible that he could end up in the bullpen when he rejoins the Reds but building up his innings gives the team flexibility when he’s ready to return.

“We don’t want to rush it,” Reds manager David Bell said. “It’s part of making sure his shoulder is in good shape, building back up when he gets back. I think the more we build him up, the better off he’ll be and the better off we will be. I think it’ll just put him in a better position to help us.”
